Putting on a fashion show normally takes a team so to do this as a one woman show (on top of juggling creative a levels), required my best organisational skills. It really challenged me to curate a killer line up of brands and liaise with hair stylists, makeup artists, the DJ, choreographer, designers, models, venue, celebrity guests and charity patrons, but after months of email threads, phone calls, styling meetings, fittings and quite a bit of pressure, it all came together on the day.

Thanks to this element of the event, I am now a firm believer in the power of a list. You will never catch me without a to do list, check list or wish list in hand.

Managing this event taught me how time can be your friend or your foe. It can run away from you or drag behind you, and chasing it is hopeless.

What made this event a success was how I time managed, scheduling everything in preparation from months prior to the day itself. Being aware of how time flies means I now use it to my advantage, increasing my efficiency and productivity on any project I face and need to juggle alongside other projects and personal life.

Finding the work and personal life balance people always talk about has forever been something I’ve struggled with as I’ve always placed the priority in my work, however the more I juggle the more I can appreciate the need for fun and the direct impact playing has on my productivity.

If I want others to invest in me, I have to too! having the chance to direct a event of this scale so young demonstrated not only to me but also to those surrounding me that I am highly capable in event management, bringing concepts to life and ultimately pulling everyone and everything together in achieving killer results that belong in a LFW line up.

Positive experience like this gave me the self belief to go out and pitch myself to other companies and individuals, opening further opportunities and allowing me to gain even more experience!
